Energy giant EDF have taken out civil proceedings against a group of activists who scaled chimneys at their West Burton plant last October.

G4S vans attacked

 In the very early hours of Wednesday morning we carried out a couple of swift acts of love and self-defence. Two G4S vehicles had their tires slashed, paint stripped and windows smashed. BBC Nottingham: Notts Police acts on stop and search concerns


Police officers in Nottinghamshire are being trained to improve the way they use stop and search powers.

It follows concerns that community relations are being damaged because more black people are stopped than white people.

Ch Supt Simon Nickless said he was telling officers their use of the powers needed to be lawful and proportionate.
