There are fears the recent flooding of the Wilwell Farm Cutting nature reserve in Nottinghamshire has been caused by nearby tram construction work.
The Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust believes the extension work has altered the site's draining and say both wildlife and plants have suffered.

Many BBC journalist from the NUJ and technicians from BECTU walked out for a 12 hour strike today. The action is part of their ongoing campaigns on pay, pensions, continuing job cuts, workload and bullying issues. Output was affected on local and national stations both radio and television, much being replaced by recorded content.

I went to Nottingham's 'Bedroom Tax' demo last week. Saw the odd NCC councillor and apparently at least one MP popped in too.
You might also be aware that NCC has launched it's own petition against it too and, despite the fact that they deserve a long list of "Where were you when...?" questions, I would urge you to sign it.
It's not hard to see NCC's self interest in challenging the bedroom tax…

In the last few years a number of activists/idealists have effectively ‘taken over’ the day to day running of various groups and activities at the forest fields social club, AKA Sumac Centre, a very well established hub of community, grass routes organizing with links around the country to long and well fought campaigns, including climate camps and animal lib projects, vegan campaigns, etc.
